Through the economic and social empowerment of local communities and the introduction of sustainable development initiatives at the agricultural level, PUR seeks to address climate change, while regenerating and preserving the ecosystems upon which these supply chains depend. Many of PUR’s projects fall within the categories of insetting, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, forest conservation and landscape restoration. PUR is a B Corp Company which employs over 150 people and a presence in 10 countries.
PUR is seeking a Country Manager in Thailand.
As a key member of Asia, you will report to the Regional Manager. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring the activities and developing the business in Thailand. You will also ensure the good roll-out of operations in other countries attached to the region.
The successful candidate will be the lead point of reference for operations in the country and the key point of contact for our teams and external stakeholders, taking part in structuring the organisation, the carbon certifications, the enhancement of the project designs and the management of a team. Your key responsibilities will include:
Project management: Set-up, Plan, Coordinate, and Monitor the implementation of project activities, build, train and manage local teams based in Thailand and the Philippines, control quality of implementation, improve proceedings, coordinate the implementation of impact monitoring, develop and manage project budgets, update reporting and communication tools and formats, lead carbon certifications in tandem with our Carbon expert teams.
Project monitoring: Monitor projects outputs (ensure the implementation and adaptation of data collection tools, consolidate and analyze data, contribute to regular reporting on progress and budget), coordinate the monitoring of project impacts, be responsible for the resource management of the projects.
Project development: Develop a strategy plan for new and existing projects in Thailand and the other countries in your scope, aligning with key industry frameworks and/or carbon accounting methodologies, identify and pursue opportunities to scale projects or new projects opportunities. Be accountable for projects reporting.
Team management : management of 4+ team members in the country and lead potential recruitments and onboarding of new employee(s) in coordination with the HR department.
Partnership management: Ensure regular reporting to the Programs team to support client management; contribute to the negotiation of deals with private/public partners to implement innovative projects; coordinate project field visits with and for clients and partners.
External representation and communication: Act as the projects’ and partnerships’ focal point; represent PUR externally (platforms, conferences) and support the development of communication content on his/her projects.

We are looking for a candidate with:
Minimum 10 years of experience in sustainable agriculture and community project implementation.
Graduated from an MSc in Natural Resource Management, Agronomy, Forestry, Agroforestry, Rural Development or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and/or experience with key commodities produced in Thailand (such as rice, coffee, palm, rubber).
Knowledge or experience in handling carbon certification for afforestation/reforestation projects is a plus.
A solid background in business development in Asia is a plus.
Must be fluent in Thai and English.
A permit to work in Thailand is required.
