Many of PUR Projet’s projects fall within the categories of insetting, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, forest conservation and landscape restoration. PUR is recruiting a Project Manager to lead the REDD+ Conservation Project in San Martin/ Amazonas, Peru.
As part of the Projects team, you will report to the Country Manager of Perú and will oversee technical aspects of our Biocorredor Martín Sagrado - REDD+ project in San Martin and Peru. The successful candidate will be the lead point of reference for technical operations related to Conservation Topics in Peru and key point of contact for our teams and partners on the ground.
The main responsibilities will be, but not limited to :
Project development: Support the design, development and implementation of positive impact projects focused on Conservation and Nature based Solutions with Peruvian agricultural communities that are evaluated for their carbon, biodiversity, and water performance; the area of focus is REDD+ conservation.
Measurement and evaluation: Design, develop and implement protocols, KPI´s and frameworks to monitor project outcomes related to soil health, carbon, biodiversity and water aligning with in the REDD+ frameworks and accounting methodologies; train internal staff and local partners on measurement protocols and procedures for infield implementation.
Partnership Management: Support the development of new and existing partnerships with supply chain intermediaries, farmer and commodity organizations, and other key actors that collectively support the execution of projects with PUR.
Conservation framework research and training: Research and stay up to date on key REDD+ and conservation frameworks, at national and international level, applicable to the valuation and reporting of project impacts, with a specific focus on the Peruvian regulation market; (e.g. Carbon Regulation, Value Change Initiative, Ecosystem Service Marketplace Consortium, Science Based Targets for Nature); support the training of internal teams on relevant industry frameworks in a variety of forms (e.g. in-person, webinars, podcasts).
Budgeting and contracting: Design, develop and manage budgets and contracts related to the technical aspects and execution of field activities.
Team management (05 to 10 team members): Effectively manage technicians, field partners, and staff for the execution of projects in the field.
External representation: Represent PUR within the community of field implementers, identify and execute on new and productive partnerships that contribute to PUR’s field operations.

We are looking for a candidate with:
- Minimum 7 years of experience working with agriculture communities, ecosystem monitoring, and/or community project implementation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in REDD+ projects.
- Graduated from an MSc in Environmental Sciences, Soil Science, Plant Sciences, Animal Science, Biology, or similar field.
- Experience in experimental design, field monitoring, Measurement, Reporting, and Verification.
- Knowledge and/or experience with conservation projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multi stakeholder initiatives with communities, partners and clients/funders.
- Ability to communicate scientific information to general audiences.
- A legal right to work and live in Peru
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish. French would be a plus.
