PUR is recruiting its Carbon Lead based in Paris
To develop its activities and accelerate its Impact, PUR is looking for a Carbon Lead in a fast paced scale-up environment with a passion for positive impact and ecosystem regeneration. This ambitious role’s objective is to:
- Lead the global Carbon team
Streamline and strengthen our internal carbon management processes to optimize supply
Position PUR Carbon services as premium credits & support sales acceleration
Ensure the delivery of our carbon-related obligations with clients and certifications according to best practices
Drive innovation in Carbon forecasts & monitoring through technology and data-driven decision-making to deliver the next generation of premium Carbon credits

As the global Carbon Lead, you will work directly under the Director of Operations based in Paris and will act as both a carbon expert and business expert, making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of the company. You will manage a team of 6+ individuals spread across our main geographies and be instrumental in driving both internal and external change among PUR’s stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include in a non-exhaustive manner:
Deliver, prioritize and enhance the efficiency of our carbon roadmap (validations and verifications) on agroforestry, conservation and mangrove restoration projects relative to the best field practices and our commitments towards our clients
Be solutions-oriented to provide recommendations in case of shortfalls or roadblocks that could hamper our carbon delivery obligations
Co-develop with operations team “adaptative management” strategies to optimize the carbon supply on the long run
Drive better data-driven decision-making on carbon topics at the company level leveraging our historical data and relevant technology, working with the Chief Data Officer
Support the Executive Committee with decision-making on carbon topics through market analysis & price recommendations
Develop PUR thought leadership & represent PUR at key conferences and events on carbon topics
Drive the improvement of internal knowledge sharing on carbon topics to enhance the quality of field operations & protocols
Position PUR Carbon services as premium credits & support sales acceleration by providing the tools & argumentary to sales team, also supporting key client meetings
Help create the next generation of Premium Carbon Credits to incorporate side benefits on Biodiversity, Water and Livelihood with the right scientific references to justify for the premium
Manage relationships with key Certification partners (Verra, Gold Standard, VCI…) & MRV players (SustainCert, Regrow…) to streamline MRV process and potentially develop new custom methodology(ies) for PUR
Manage a team of +6 people worldwide in collaboration with our regional directors
Job requirements
We are looking for a candidate with:
Passion for nature regeneration & transforming businesses
A minimum of 12 years of experience in carbon (specify the area)
Experience in a fast international growing environment (scale-up environment)
Some experience with large Corporations is a plus
Great people management & change management skills
Good communication skills
Analysis mindset and solution oriented
Fluent in French and English, Spanish would be a strong asset
